Day 1

Well, this is my first post from Monterrey!!!
I got here last night around 11:30 local time, and got settled with the Mexican pastor here. His family speaks English and is super nice! For at least a few weeks, I will be living in a little guest house in their backyard- it's really nice and (I couldn't believe my good luck) has air conditioning! The first group of short-term teams won't be arriving until next week, so I'll just be helping out with some odds and ends until they do. People keep telling me to enjoy this down time because once it starts, it's going to be non stop madness.

Please keep me in your pryaers- I'm already getting a little disheartended with homesickness and culture shock. It's nothing horrible, but the summer away from my family and everything I know is looming before me, and I just need to step back and take it one day at a time.
I appreciate your prayers,
InChrist, Stephanie

  1. So good to hear you made it to your destination without any hitches.
I'll be praying that each day you are completely aware of the presence of God, that you see the situations you find yourself in as "divine appointments" and that by the end of the summer, part of your heart is rooted amongst the people God brings into your life.
